Your success on social media depends largely on how people perceive your brand. It depends on how much and how well you have positioned your brand in the marketplace and in the minds of your target audience. In the following lines, you would learn the basic tips that can help you improve your brand perception on social media.

Define Your Brand

Branding is the most important aspect of any business, without it, no marketing strategy in the world would produce the desired results. What is branding? Branding is the total perception of you (your product or service) in the marketplace. Branding is about creating distinct features (name, logo, experiences, and expectations) so as to establish a presence in the customer’s mind. A brand is not just an identity but also, it is the point of distinction between you and your competitors.

Be Consistent

Consistency in social media is key. You need to not only post regularly (not too much, so your followers do not feel spammed and not rarely, so they don’t forget you) but also ensure that your branding is consistent across all social media platforms. You must have an optimized profile across all your social media channels with bios containing keywords that best describe who you are and what you can, your contact details and good quality profile picture and cover page (Preferably your logo) and ensure that these pages look the same. This goes a long way in reaffirming your brand and ensuring that no matter what platform your customers are on, they can recognize and relate to your brand.

Content is King

Not just content but optimized content. How you use your words and images matters, the keywords you use, the hashtags you use, the links you include…these are all very important. Creativity is key. You must ensure that though you are consistent with your brand and its niche, you put in creativity in every image designed, every video content and every post. Social networks are unique in their own way and so the content you out on each should be different. Research on best practices and use them to your advantage. Ensure you are always giving value not just promoting your services and products

Marketing is about maximizing relationships and for customers to buy from you, they need to trust you. You build trust, they need to know you. It is of immense importance that you build relationships with your followers and your customers. Retweet their tweets, Post of a picture of them using your product, Every now and again, appreciate them for following you, answer their questions, and thank them for their comments, like your pictures. Engage in conversations.

Every Month or three Months, take time out to look over your analytic reports and re-evaluate your progress since the last time. How many followers have you gained? How many converted to leads on your website? Did you get more interactions with them? Have their habits changed? When are they most online now? Do you need to change content strategy? Or post at different times? Is it time for a giveaway contest? Always take time out to Re-evaluate your social media efforts. Be data driven, utilize Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn insights and analytics.
